Greg, monitor a machine with Process Explorer after the post-patch reboot. You'll probably find it's running Windows Update. Machines are automatically rescanned after the post-patch reboot, and the number of updates this month will make that take longer than usual.

Subject: Patch Tuesday woes?

So far it seems that one of the patches release yesterday is causing
svchost.exe to take up to 10 minutes when booting (I've seen it on about
15 computers so far). I remember seeing this on WSUS 2.0 and there was a
patch and fix (Wsus 3.0 + client patch) for it last year. Has anyone
else seen this today?
