Why not purchase from Dell with your image already there instead of the
OEM image? MUCH simpler in the grand scheme of things.

  Yah, I've seen that, too, and figured it would be annoying, if we
didn't wipe the OEM OS install and load our own as a matter of
standard practice.  The only reason I've seen it at all is we boot new
machines to make sure they work before overwriting the OEM install.

  I recommend blowing away the OEM install.  It solves a lot of
problems.  It can be automated with MS RIS, or Ghost, or
whatever-it-is-that-comes-with-Vista, or any number of other tools.
