Yeah, the MIS program at FSU has two different tracks—technical and managerial. There are certain core courses that everyone takes (like Project Management), then you branch off and take a few courses specific to your track. The technical track includes things like Advanced Database Development and Management, and the managerial track (which I’m taking) includes things like Operations Management.

I have the tech knowledge already, and the program was geared toward business functions, organizations, management, planning, etc. I liked that sort of thing. It was hard work but I am glad I did it. That was MBA, but the MS in Info Systems at my school was more focused on tech courses. (That was Hopkins, I suppose other schools are different). Besides my wife has a Masters and PhD. There are also come courses which supposedly help with the GMAT. I took one from Kaplan.
