Its not going to see 4GB the best is probablt 3.2-3.4x. Its an X86
processor issue, also the PCI busses and device attached will also take
away from the available RAM. 

 

You might very well need to go X64.

Does anyone have idea how to make XP recognize 4gb Ram?

This is on a Dell OPtiplex 745 with XP Pro 32bit

I have used /PAE and /3gb in the boot.ini with no luck.

My next suggestion was upgrade to 64bit
