Every environment is different and can be pro or con to death on any particular configuration/viewpoint. That's the nice thing. I would start by saying what would you feel comfortable with? I would follow that up with seeing what your current hardware usage is, the lifetime on that equipment, and the reason for upgrading (power/time/both?)
