Along with uninstalling sql.........
Start Registry Editor, and then locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
In the left pane, click each GUID. For each GUID that you click, look for a
display name in the right pane that matches "Microsoft SQL 2005 embedded
Edition...". When you see a display name that matches the name, copy the value
of the Key named "UninstallString"
Open a Command-Window (Start->run->cmd)
Paste the Copied string.
Append " CALLERID=OCSETUP.EXE" eg "MsiExec.exe
/X{BDD79957-5801-4A2D-B09E-852E7FA64D01} CALLERID=OCSETUP.EXE"
There you go Don't forget to reboot.

Have you tried a MSIZAP on the product,
Msizap tw! {F58317D620CA5BF46B8AE44BFB678E49}
Then do a fresh install of WSUS 3.0

Subject: WSUS installation fails
Hi folks
At a customer site another service provider was able to "break" WSUS (version
3). As nothing was running anymore, customer decided to uninstall WSUS. Since,
there is no way to reinstall WSUS on this server. We always get error messages
like:
2008-03-20 15:34:08 Error MWUSSetup ParseCommandLine: Failed to
read InstallType registry value (Error 0x80070002: The system cannot find the
file specified.)
2008-03-20 15:36:28 Error MWUSSetup DoInstall: ParseCommandLine
failed (Error 0x80041453)
2008-03-20 15:36:48 Error MWUSSetup ParseCommandLine: Failed to
read InstallType registry value (Error 0x80070002: The system cannot find the
file specified.)
Any idea how to solve this issue?
Many thanks in advance
Patrick
