Take a look at Serv-U FTP server: http://www.serv-u.com/Serv-UEditions.asp
The Home edition includes HTTPS (SSL) file transfers and you wouldn't need to generate A/D accounts for external users. And at only $100 it's inexpensive. My first thought was an FTP site, but then the passwords for the users are sent in clear text. Not so good. I don't want to give them Active Directory user names and passwords. What options do I have to get the contractors the files they need in a secure, and easy manner?
