Steve,
Define "very low". I'm an all iSCSI shop (Dell\Equallogic) with GB switches (Cisco 3750s) and performance is great, even with SQL/Exchange 2003/Sharepoint/everything else on the SAN. However, I'm mostly virtualized via ESX. It all depends on your needs/benchmarks. As far as your iSCSI access question, there is no "license" needed for a 2003 server to access an iSCSI LUN, just the free MS iSCSI initiator, download here. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=12cb3c1a-15d6-4 585-b385-befd1319f825&DisplayLang=en Shook http://www.linkedin.com/in/andyshook ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, April 18, 2008 7:25 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: HP AiO 1200 storage system I appreciate the responses from everyone. >From this list, it is my perception that iSCSI performance is not "very low'. Anyone care to chime in on this point? Miguel, what do you mean I would have to purchase an extra license? Dell told me it was a simple matter of down loading a free drive from MS to get iSCSI to work on a Windows 2003 server, Thanks.
