+1 on Rob Vieira's books - they are fantastic SQL Server books.

I'd also go to your local B&N/Borders/whatever you have locally, and just pick 
up a generic database design book as well (that will cover ER modelling, 
normalisation and similar stuff, as well as some fundamentals on how databases 
work - e.g. b-trees etc).
