Semi-related - I needed to reimage a new Dell laptop because I didn't want all their 'extras' so I got the new XP w/SP3 iso image from Technet to try out. Didn't take either the CD key that came with the laptop nor my Technet key. Going to back to the SP2 CD today.

Added DIMS Notification Handler to startup. 2. Reinstalled Windows Messenger which had been removed. 3. Registered Terminal Services ActiveX Client Control (redist). 4. Added two arguments to the command line for Windows Media Player to open AVI files: "/prefetch:8 /open" 5. Tried to associate MP3 files with Windows Media Player when they were associated with another program. 6. Reinserted a shortcut to Windows Media Player in my QuickLaunch bar. I am sure there are other changes WinPatrol did not detect.
