Application Failover Wansync Doubletake Vmware ESX3 (fibre with dual pathing) Block Failover *most SAN products* DRBD/Heartbeat Datacore s/w SAN If I have my choice I personally think Datacore is faster than most products out there by the way it's designed. If Im budget concerned I look at DRBD. The finer details of the model to be adopted is yet to be worked out. We also have remote sites who may need to replicate to HQ, so an IP based solution could be ideal. Because of the size of the investment, we are required to tender for a solution. EMC and Netapp have been aggressive that each of their solutions is ideal. However, we need our own independent info to make a informed decision. Has anybody gone through a similar exercise to share the info used to compare these products, the criteria used etc. They both try try to outdo each on who technology is more superior on snapshots etc. This can be quite confusing. Will appreciate any ideas or materials.
