I am in need of the experience and expertise of the other admins out there.

Right now our mobile workforce (sales and client support) laptops are not
domain members.

There are a myriad of reasons we chose to do things this way in the past,
windows boot up speed problems with the DCs are not available just being one.

One of the challenges we have then is that these users only authenticate
against Exchange when checking their e-mail and are not notified of Domain Pwd
expirations. As a result when their password expires, they have to call me, I
change the password and we go on.

With a few users this was fine, however as we grow and add more remote users
this is becoming cumbersome. I have found some tools that will allow us to
e-mail expiration notifications to users, but I need a user friendly way to let
these people change their passwords.

All of our remote users have e-mail accounts, but not all of our internal
employees do, so implementing a solution that requires an e-mail address
doesn't really work.

What solutions for password self-service are you all using?

What kind of policies / procedures do you use for your mobile workforce?

Any and all information and input welcome.

TIA
