Even though I have been in the IT field for over 20 years, I am more or less a newbie to this list.
I have found it to be both VERY helpful and fun to participate in, however, I agree that using this list to bring attention to one group of people, cultures, life-styles or religion for humor's sake should be at a minimum and posted in another forum specifically created for such content. I am sure I have offended a couple of people here which I regret has happened but I have tried to apologize to said persons with no response of any possible reprieve or forgiveness. SAD because I really need that person's participation when I have a question or problem. There is a wealth of knowledge here. Light joking while on-topic is good for keeping boredom at bay but it may be best to stick to the topic, for the most part, when posting. I am sure STU would appreciate that since this list is sponsored and supported by those wonderful people at Sunbelt-Software. My two cents, which ain't worth a penny now a days, Tom PS: Don't be hatin" Shook!! -----Original Message----- From: Ken Schaefer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, June 04, 2008 8:42 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: TechEd meet up possibility on the 11th. If you want to use this list as some personal joke/banter forum, the please have the courtesy to mark your posts as OT (or Off Topic) so the rest of us can create rules that put this stuff into the bin. People who actually contribute answers (rather than drivel) have better things to do that monitor this list for things they can answer. I personally find it irritating to open Outlook in the morning and find 200 unread messages from this list, of which 20 are actually useful, and the other 180 are from you and your friends (or others) engaging in pointless conversation. There is this option to "little-r" and just reply to those who want to spend their time joking with you. The rest of us either (a) don't care or (b) don't want to see it. > -----Original Message----- > From: Andy Shook [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, 4 June 2008 10:20 PM > To: NT System Admin Issues > Subject: RE: TechEd meet up possibility on the 11th. > > You want some cheese with that whine?
