I agree. Once you start down the path of who is wasting whose time on these
lists, you never come back. Let's be honest, there are many "on topic"
conversations that take place that are a huge waste of time for most of us,
because they don't apply to our situations. As people who work in IT we should
have the capabilities to simply deal with these situations. I for one have
server-side rules that move all list traffic away from my Inbox, and if I
arrive in the morning to find a long conversation about ISA server (sorry Dr.
Tom but I don't use ISA so I just don't care), I simply sort by Subject and
toss it all out. Not a big deal. If anyone feels the need to auto-delete mail
from myself, Shook or anyone else, I can assure you we won't be offended.
After all...You take the good, You take the bad, You take them both and there
you have The Facts of Life, The Facts of Life. :-)

While I will agree with Kurt that occasionally the conversation here may
go a bit more towards the excessive on non-technical arena's, I also
have to agree with Andy that when you put this many people that are
diverse in every possible way there is no way to avoid the clashing of
various backgrounds and mindsets both in joking and perspectives. That
is of course unless we wanted to remove all humor and fun from the list
and make it strictly a technical resource; which I would not find very
fun at all. I think a certain degree of tolerance is required and
simply delete/ignore conversations that one finds offensive. We too can
of course attempt to mitigate the degree of our horseplay in an attempt
to be more sensitive to our fellow guys/gals. If Shook can take the
amount of bashing and joking we do with him in jest then I think many of
us can do the same. Sorry if you feel offended Kurt, I would hate to
lose anyone's contributions because of joking.

You want some cheese with that whine? Geez, Kurt who hasn't gotten
offended by this list? While I have no desire of you to stop
contributing, you've got to loosen up. This list is like a technical
dinner theater. Good real-life info and advice mixed in with multiple
flavors of humor/stress relief.

Andy (and the rest of you),

Can you please stop with the gay-bashing moronity? I may be straight,
but not only are two of my brothers gay, many of my friends as well.
It's really annoying.

Please, satisfy your juvenile impulses some other way.

Kurt
