I have found that the Dell rails will go into just about any rack with no
issues, I haven't found a rack they don't work with yet and I have APC, HP, and
some off-brand racks. I can't speak for other server rails, but if you have
Dell servers get whatever rack best meets your needs (price, size, shape,
color, accessories, etc.)

Good point, although I picked up a half dozen noname racks from the company
next to me, and the dell versa rails go in perfectly. Not to mention you can
get Dell racks for a decent price if your rep likes ya :p

That being said 90 percent of my servers are dell, with an hp 1u itanium and a
compaq alpha thrown in for fun. Also for what it's worth the barracuda spam
firewall and google mini slide right in as well, although since those have no
rails I suppose it's a moot point

I came to this job with a basement room 13'x20' filled to the brim with old
tech equipment and 5 servers (AS400, 3-Windows, NT, IBM Tape Drive and Dell
122T Tape Drive) wedged into nooks and crannies. This was to be the Server
room only, but now my work area also. :( NOISE! Side effect, I have no one
watching over my shoulder. :) Now that I have cleaned out the previous
occupants, got a 1950's modular desk in place and got the Servers in a place I
can actually manage them, I though a Server room redesign was in order.

I am looking for recommendations on full rack enclosures.
