I do it for the simple reason I can backup the redirect folder on the server instead of backing up 500+ PCs. It's nice because when a PC is upgraded or a dead hard drive replaced as soon as the user logs into the new PC the documents reappear as if by magic! Same reason for using IMAP instead of POP for email (I don't use Exchange).
