Im just deploying the same thing at present, AD is possible. Upgrade to 8.x IOS 
for best results, it has a native AD/LDAP client no need for RADIUS. I have 
become stuck with having multiple profiles and restricting them based on AD 
groups. It seems to authenticate any user not just the group requested. Ill 
send you some info i received off list on how to do this. 
 
Safari online has been a great help.
