Does anyone know what the Vista DNS Client Service does? I've had a
number of vista computer give an error
The DNS Client service has stopped working
In my experience this error only occurs if the computer is running Vista
SP1 and is a member of a domain. I was talking to someone the other day
who was experiencing the same problem. He said they just turn the DNS
client service off. I did it and my problem went away and no other
problems have surfaced yet. I was a bit surprised. Being a DNS client
seems like it's pretty important! Obviously this must not be required
to resolve host names or my computer wouldn't be working very well. So,
what's the DNS Client service do?
