Do you want a real 'server class' system or something that just works?

I picked up a a refrub HP Pavilion Media Center PC with a Quad core
Q6600 Intel chip and added a total of 8GB of RAM in (less then $700
total). The CPU itself hardly blinks.

I currently am running the host system as a DC, 3 W2k8 virtual systems
and 3 64 bit w2k3 systems for learning Exchange 2007. A friend has a
similar 'home build' system but he added 3 320GB drives to spread the
guest systems on as there is more Disk IO contention then Ram/CPU
issues.

The only slow downs I really experience are when trying to run Windows
update on three w2k3 systems (38 updates) at the same time :). I
really need to build up a WSUS system for this.
