I am rocking some 64Bit 36GB+ Servers with Quad Quad-Cores for some SQL
clusters here, but I got less horsepower in my Esx servers and still
looking at 20-1 or better ratios.

Awesome - next year I plan on a 64-bit 8-16GB RAM W2K8 server to run
VM's on...

With a little more help from Webster (thanks guy!) I came up with a
kickin' sub-$1K server from ewiz.com with 8 GB RAM and a quad-core Q6600
Intel CPU.

Ewiz.com has some great prices.

Post your req's here.
I have a couple systems I do testing for Xen and *did* some Hyper-v
testing with. Possibly I can suggest a config that I know works from
experience that fits your budget as I built my own rigs as well.

Related Q: a few weeks ago someone (Blackstone? Espinola? I don't
remember) posted a site that had really excellent prices on white-box
servers.

(I need something inexpensive for home that I can use as a Hyper-V
server.)

Anyone remember what that site was?

(And, BTW, it's a real failing for me - I don't really "do" hardware.
So, designing a server from the motherboard up isn't a skill I have.
Webster helped me a lot yesterday, but when I gave him all of my
requirements, it was more than I wanted to spend...)

Thanks!

The 2100 is on the 2003 HCL but I don't see it on the 2008.

I would "imagine" that 2008 will install, but may not be supported.

Anyone have a clue whether newisys 2110-I motherboards are natively
recognized by server 2008?

Thanks.
