Same answer applies. You'll have to "Upgrade" the server to get it to
accept the new key, but I'm not sure OEM media will allow you do that.

Sorry - should have been more specific, its an OEM key.

Action Pack media requires activation.

Volume License (VL) media does not.

If you purchased a VL key that explains why it doesn't work. But you should
be able to 'upgrade' the previous install with the VL media and key.

Subject: 2003 server standard Action Pack key change?

Hi,

Last week a collegue of mine installed a server using one of our action pack
CD's and installation key (I know, I know). Luckily he didnt activate the
install.

I have now kicked him around the car park, and I have purchased a 2008
server standard key, to change the old key to the new one.

I know this has been covered before but the new key wont be acepted, I have
been clickin the activate/ phone customer support/ enter new key - but it
just says invalid key.

Is this because he used Action Pack media?

Can I get round this without having to reinstall the server?

Gavin.
