I've seen the exact behavior myself in the past..

Yea, it very well could! BE install's drivers for one.

I can't tell you how many times I have encountered BE doing exactly this. I
am sure many on this list have encountered BE issues.
No help for you as I am not running a setup like yours, but I am watching
this thread with interest!
