We have an existing "hobbit" box running on Linux... but it's rudimentary. We are playing with "Zenoss" as well... theres a free version for platform stuff, and a pay-for version to do app service monitoring...
Also look at OpenNMS. -sc From: Jim Slattery [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 13, 2008 2:21 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Server/network device monitor software suggestions? I'm looking for a solution that will allow us to monitor many servers from many different sites. Looking for Event log triggers/alerts first and foremost, but any other information that could be gathered would be great as well. I'm not looking for free, but GFI Events Manager is more expensive per device than my managers will allow me to spend. Open source would be awesome, but management is willing to spend some money on a solution. I appreciate any ideas or suggestions!
