Hi guys,

Thank you *very* much for all of the help. Salvador, I really appreciate
you checking all of that. And I appreciate the tellings of experiences
with Entourage. I also appreciate the suggestions of a virtual PC run on
the Mac. Gosh, I feel like I should be adding, "And I missed you most of
all, scarecrow!"

I think the order in which I'm leaning now is:

1) "While this may LOOK like an HP workstation instead of a Mac, it
is actually a Mac design that is SO new you just haven't heard anything
about it yet. And the OS? It's the latest from Apple... called
Visteoard."

2) Get an actual Mac and try Entourage with E2K3.

3) Get an actual Mac and virtualize the PC on it.

I'd think about OWA, but I can't imagine it would allow all of the
features needed.

I do think she'd probably be okay with a PC (or maybe I'm just fooling
myself,( so maybe I'll see if she'd be okay with that.

Thanks again peoples J

Evan

I second what someone else said our GA's all use Mac's with Fusion and
XP VM's loaded on the which we control 100% . The helpdesk guys don't
have a steep learning curve of Mac issues and we know everything we do
in our environment works fine with the XP VM's

Whoops, my mistake. No colored flags. However, the same can be
accomplished using Projects (Entourage only feature)

Loading up Entourage on my Mac to check your specific points

Access Public Folders - Check (although it feels goofy)

Set Colored Flags in client - Check (Entourage 2008)

Open Other User's Folders - Check

What doesn't work -

Server synchronization of Tasks, Notes

Okay, so we're hiring a graphic artist. In a company of engineers and
manufacturing people, Macs are not exactly commonplace (I have one in my
office that I bought so I could better relate to customers when they
send in art, and after "using" the darn thing for a while, I no longer
felt it was as important to relate.)

My issue is that this graphic artist would prefer to work on a Mac.
That's fine, but part of what she will be doing is preflighting artwork,
and we use Outlook as our way to, for example, set flags on items in
public folders, etc...

I have never used Entourage, but I'm assuming that's what would she
would need to use. Does it have similar functionality to Outlook in that
you can access Public Folders (using E2K3 server), set colored flags,
open other user's folders, etc?? Anyone have a mixed environment like
that that can comment on how well Entourage operates in it?

Thanks,

Evan
