I have seen a couple of weird things with dynamic disks, you can diskedit
them back to basic, its documented on mskb. Get a decent backup, you modify
a couple of blocks in the MBR and reboot. Took longer to get the guts to do
it then the time it took to implement J

You could also ghost, or even run bartpe and just copy over via drag/drop,
or try some different item ie livestate, ghost, manual p2v

Subject: Convert W2k to ESX

Good evening everyone, I am trying to do a coversion of an old Windows 2000
server onto a virtual machine running esx. The orginial server is running
dynamic disks and when I covert the machine to virtual the virtual image
will not boot. I have never run into this issue with doing these kind of
conversions before. Has anyone converted a server running dynamic disks
before?

Any tips or suggestions?

thanks

Jonathan
