I don't power on my external drive except for when I'm running a backup.
Rotate two of them, you cut your POH in half, increasing life even more.  So
I don't know that getting two is such a major concern unless they're both
powered on continuously from day one.

And, I neglected to say that to buy two at the rebate price you'd have to
have the second one bought by a friend anyway (for the rebate).

You think these prices are good?  Wait 3 weeks and shop Black Friday or
Cyber Monday.  Those dates combined with the renewed and improved recession
should make for free-after-rebate or nearly so.   Last week Frys.com was
selling 4GB of Kingston PC2-6400 for $12.99 after rebate.
