But I would think the product would lack any centralized management or
reporting.  Still, for a small office environment it may be sufficient
for desktop protection.

Cliff notes:  MS will discontinue Windows Live OneCare and offer a free
product that just does antivirus/antispyware (OneCare did a few other
things not related to malware protection). 

 

This will not affect Forefront, which has had "strong growth".

 

It doesn't seem that there will be any business restrictions on use of
this product.  If not limited to home/private-consumer use, it will
likely pull the rug out from under the other AV companies in the SB
market.
