Somebody sells insurance for anything.  Anything.

Your organization needs to assess the type of data they maintain and
the risks of getting sued for losing that data through accident,
negligence or attack.  This is the work of a lawyer and your
management.

If you consult with the people selling it, then yes, they will of
course tell you how important it is.
