Thanks for the information. I just got word back from Dell indicating that nothing "upstream" of the storage processors needs to be taken offline, just the storage processors on down. I'm still waiting on clarification of what that actually means. I'm by no means an EMC expert, but I'm curious as to how the SPE can handle host I/O if both storage processors are offline while the drive firmware is being updated.
