  I'll agree with what others have said: Don't design a mobile demo
that depends on Internet access (or anything else you can't bring with
you in a box).  Package the site on the laptop somehow.

  That is most definitely *not* always the case.  The details prolly
depend on the carrier, but not all towers are equipped/configured to
provide data service.  Of course, in downtown Chicago, I'd expect
things to be consistently well equipped, but stranger things have
happened.
