Very good. Thanks! -----Original Message----- From: Micheal Espinola Jr [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2009 5:48 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Re: Speaking of page file
Contiguous, meaning its one inline file (no fragmentation.) The min/max settings are set to identicle values to prevent automatic growth should for some reason, the OS decide to do so. The size depends on the system and memory use, but usually I hard-code what the recommended value is listed as. I second Michael's recommendation for jkdefrag. Its an excellent free tool. If you are on the x86 platform and using the GUI version, it also uses sysinternals tools for defragging the pagefile and registry. -- ME2 On Tue, Jan 27, 2009 at 5:35 PM, Paul Everett <[email protected]> wrote: > When you say contiguous, you mean initial/max the same setting? > What size do you use? > > Thanks > > -----Original Message----- > From: Micheal Espinola Jr [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2009 5:28 PM > To: NT System Admin Issues > Subject: Re: Speaking of page file > > Routinely?
