  The ZIP central directory structure is kept in the last file, so a
lot of programs will have heart-burn.

  I recall PKZIPFIX.EXE (from the original PKZIP suite for MS-DOS)
could recover contents from a partial archive.  You might want to see
if their latest-and-greatest has similar functionality.  PKWare is
