Try checking for "bad" print jobs in the Spool folder when the service is stopped and remove them.

People report that they can't print. When we checked a couple of application servers, we found the spooler service had stopped running. Restarting it did not help UNTIL we stopped/restarted the spooler on the print server. I am at a loss trying to figure out what is causing this. I have eliminated anti-virus programs and backup program as neither is impacting the print server at the time the system fails. If anybody has any ideas, my thanks in advance.
