Try disabling the touchpad (if possible, sometimes a button above) and
give her and external mouse to test. I have seen clients having files
copied to mysterious directories when that miserable capacitative device
gets it into its head (chip)...

We have ruled out that she is Alt+S'ing her email and there are
not any keyboard quick keys for send mail or open document.
