I hear ya!  They got rid of the s-video ports too.

Correction - I mistakenly thought that OP said D800! (Yes, those are
dinosaurs).  But he said D830.  I think those and D630's are still sweat
machines, very solid and very fast.

Sometimes the dinosaurs are more useful though, not a single model in
the entire E-series line has a built-in serial port :(

On a weekly I have to drive around town with my trusty Latitude D520 and
a Cisco console cable, I would really prefer to not have to carry around
a USB -> serial dongle too.

BTW you can still find the D-series Latitudes refurbished at
http://www.dell.com/outlet. If you need/want one get one while you can!
