We use nagios to monitor windows servers, mac servers, solaris, linux, cisco switches and more. Originally set up just to get some monitoring at all, it's grown on us and works fine. Everything from hardware to services, citrix connectivity, oracle tablespaces and bandwidth usage via mrtg.
