I had some IIS issues today. our main DC is running a small intranet website for us and I just found out about 30 minutes or so ago that it has been down all day (wonder why they never tell me these things!?!?! J) I fussed around until I figured out what the problem was. in IISAdmin, there was a setting to enable/disable certain extensions. One of the extensions that was disabled as asp.net V2.0.50727. Now, I know that our website is an asp.net website, so on a hunch, I re-enabled that and that fixed it. However, I'm at a loss as to how it got disabled. I'm about the only one who ever logs onto that machine and now I'm scratching my head. I did do a windows update last night.. Any ideas what would have caused that ONE extension to be disabled?
