Do you mean you can't see your XP descriptions when browsing from Vista? If so - try this:
Open My Network Places on a XP machine and expand Entire Network and MS Windows Network. Then right drag your Domain to your desktop and select create shortcut. Finally copy that shortcut to your Vista box, double click and see the description in details view. -----Original Message----- From: Phillip Partipilo [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, April 09, 2009 4:24 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Vista network browsing - can't see computer description. This is bizarre. Ok, I'm biting the bullet and we needed to rebuild the conference room PC and the idea came up to throw Vista Business x64 onto it (got Biz so we know we can downgrade if it sucks). Well, we can't see the computer description when browsing our network. That's a huge deal breaker since all our PCs are numbered and we put the employee name in the description. Is there a way to turn this on? Phillip Partipilo Parametric Solutions Inc.
