We use Shoretel at $WORK. I helped implement it, and do some of the administration on it occasionally, and it's a very nice system.
FAR less expensive than, say, Avaya or Cisco, and a very nice design. We migrated from a very old Nortel Meridian SL1 system (probably over 20 years old, maybe 30 years old!), so we couldn't use any of the legacy digital phones, but we had an abundance of analog phones, so went with a couple of their analog/VOIP boxes and a larger number of their newish pure analog boxes. Had a couple of issues with the pure analog boxes (mostly it was that they don't play well with the Polycom phones we use in our conference rooms), but have never had a glitch in the analog/VOIP boxes. Don't know if they fixed the Polycom issue or not - it's been a while, so can't remember much about that. We only have a few of the VOIP sets, for the execs and their assistants, plus our customer care folks (receptionsts/call takers for sales and tech support) and they are very happy with the VOIP stuff - all told about 15 VOIP stations, out of about 230 stations total. The client software is decent, the reporting is OK, but we didn't pay for the better version of the reporting, either. As you can tell, $WORK is incredibly budget-minded, but the Shoretel equipment is sweet, and I'd buy it again, given the chance. Kurt On Fri, Apr 24, 2009 at 09:51, Cesare' A.
