These two Vostro's have the latest G45 chipset and video driver from Intel.
I always use the component manufacturer drivers as well. Maybe I will try
rolling back to an older driver. I will never buy a Vostro again. These
things are just piles.

<rant>Next time someone calls me and says they need a machine and they don't
want to pay more than $500 I'm going to say "Tell me when you find one and
I'll come set it up!". My name just ends up getting attached to the junk a
year later when they're tired of all the problems they've had. They'll pay
$1500 for the iMac they have at home and tell me to get a decent PC in their
hands for a third of the price. I mentioned this detail to this customer and
he just looks confused.</rant>

BTW, I hadn't seen that website before for the laptop drivers. Thanks!

I have seen this on two Precision Workstation M4400 notebooks. (Vista64 bit
/ Nvidia video)

I updated the driver to a "non-Dell" driver and no problems since.

Is anyone seeing this a lot lately? I have two Dell Vostro 220's and my own
Latitude E6500 that gets this now and then. The 220's have Intel video
chipsets and my Lat has a Quadro. I don't see it near as much on my machine,
may once a week. The Vostro's see this all day long and have fresh installed
of Vista from the DVD. Everything is up to date with the BIOS and display
drivers direct from Intel.
