Do you mean connecting to \\servername\share<file:///\\servername\share>? That
works regardless of whether you have AD or not.
If you are talking about printers that are published into AD by a print server,
all that is created is a printQueue object (you can view these easily using
ADSIEdit or similar) that points the client to
\\servername\share<file:///\\servername\share>

Subject: Connect to AD printers outside AD?

Hi Folks,

Is it possible to connect to an AD printer, using the AD share name, when the
user does not have an account in AD? I would like to allow our visitors to
easily connect to printers near our conference rooms. I know they can connect
with IP direct, but the path is easier for most users.

Thanks,
Tom
