I just tested the 809Pro and returned it. The NAS was very slow and just
could not get the iSCSI features to work at all. Spent a good bit of time
with QNAP tech support and they couldn't get it working either. BTW, QNAP
support is AWESOME. Got the device in on Friday afternoon and at 10:45PM
Central I was on an IM session with QNAP support for almost an hour.

The problems I ran into were:

Creating the iSCSI target with "allocate all disk space" selected would fail
at 95% with device full failure.
Creating the iSCSI target with "allocate all disk space" not selected would
fail at 95% with drive full failure when doing a quick format in Server 2008
or Vista or Mac OS X 10.5.7.
Deleting the failed iSCSI target would require almost 8 hours before the
full free space would be returned so something else could be tried.

And yes, I was:

Using the latest firmware
Using approved drives
Using Gb Ethernet
Using an approved APC UPS device
