I have to admit, I think they chose the name poorly.  Google sounded a
bit silly to begin with too, but "bing" is not a positive word
association for me.

I'd be really interested to know what research went into choosing this
name and what the results were. I'm certainly not the average user, but
I'm interested to know who is.

I wonder if this was chosen internally by Microsoft or one of their
marketing/ad agencies...
