I do... however the behavior is not site-specific. Example:

-Surfing myforums.com in 1st tab works OK

-right-clicking a thread to open in new tab - this second tab hangs

-right clicking the _SAME_ thread to open in new tab(the third tab)
works

So for all on the same site: 1st and 3rd tabs OK, 2nd tab hangs (with
the URL for 2nd and third tabs being identical)

Do you have the compatiblity service pack installed? If so try setting
it to always use it. Ive found that it gets rid of most problems when it
comes to certain sites.

Hmm, I'll try that, thanks.

I have been seeing similar behavior. Simply pressing F5 seems to let it
connect. It is almost like a race condition where it times out connect
attempts before presenting the tab [page].

Try disabling plug-ins to see if it's being caused by one of them?

I am using IE8 on XP SP2 without the problems you describe.

Running IE8 on XP (2 separate boxes), I get problems with new taps
"hanging" when opened. That the "loading" indicator will sit there and

It often seems to be every other tab, up to a point (i.e. tabs 1, 3 and
5 will work, tabs 2 and 4 will hang). But once I get up to 7-8 tabs
nothing works.

I originally suspected DNS, but all my testing seems fine, and Firefox
doesn't seem to suffer the same problem. My IE8-on-Vista installation
seems fine too (although on a separate net).

My Google-fu seems to indicate this was a known problem with the RC, but
that it got fixed for release...
