Active Sync allowed on the mailbox, and hopefully you have OWA set up with 
https. If so just point the IPhone at that and AD authentication and it will 
work.

I saw all those docs you mention to. Not sure what they were trying to 
accomplish writing that garbage, it really is as easy as the above. I went 
through much pain before I realized how easy it was.....
