Really?
I've been fixing them for awhile and the LCD part is the easiest, well after some practice that is J But for most of the guys here techwise I don't think it be that hard. 2 screws outside 6 inside and 3 cables pops While everything is very small with some patience and a magnifier you can save some bucks ________________________________ From: Andrew Greene [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, June 25, 2009 3:42 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: IPhone 3g <Nightmare> I dropped mine from 5.5 feet onto linoleum and managed to crack the LCD, but not the glass. Got a replacement LCD and tools from pdaparts.com for $70. It was very nearly the most harrowing repair/install I've ever done. Everything really is tiny in there. All in all, the phone works again and it barely looks like I worked on it at all. Had I known about this place, I probably would have saved myself the 3 heart attacks I had while replacing the screen. Normally its $100. http://www.missionrepair.com/Mission_Repair_iPhone_3G_Diagnosis_and_Repa ir_s/308.htm If you're daring, you can buy the glass and digitizer from them for $60. But I would not recommend trying to fix it yourself. I destroyed my old 8gb 3G iPhone by trying to disassemble it to dry it out after it fell in a toilet. Everything is MICRO SIZE in there, and the connectors break easily. Phillip Partipilo Parametric Solutions Inc.
