I have never seen a corrupt file myself. I regularly do test restores of this "voodoo" stuff. You said you are not on the latest version. How old is it? Might be a good time to get up on support for a year.

Dave - I've had issues where it looks like it worked perfect, completes, and I even have it set to verify the job, but only to later find out that compressed file it made is corrupt. That has happened tons of times. It could be a version issue, I'm not on the newest version of esxranger.
