Take a look at clickatel http://www.clickatel.com/ they have plenty of
methods to allow you to send sms.

We use their com object on one of our internal websites, to allow users to send
sms from a webpage.

Cheers

Matt

I don't. :) My budget is tight.

Twitter is a good option, but ideally I want something with the least amount of
steps involved. Direct to SMS means people don't have to sign up to twitter.

Most carriers have unlimited texting now. If you don't have unlimited text
capability, there's something wrong.

This would require the users to have data plans no? I don't use twitter, so I
don't know what the mobile requirements would be for this to work.

there used to be a service at teleflip.com , you just sent a short email to the
phone # at teleflip.com like

[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> and they would deliver
the text to the phone regardless of carrier

just tried and cannot reach their site though, not sure they're still alive

I'm looking at the possibility of using a service that allows me to text ~20 to
100 people per month. I won't know their cellular provider, so just using
email-to-text wouldn't do it. Does anyone have any words of wisdom for this
volume, or use a service they're happy with? Any gotchyas I need to avoid? TIA.
