Didn't have time over the weekend to get anything running. While
docked it works great scanning interactively with the keyboard wedge
software (it immediately puts the scan result into notepad, for
instance), but I'm having difficulty finding free software that
understands the vcom mode, which presents a com port over the USB
link.

Because I was busy, I haven't booted my machine to FreeBSD, so haven't
tried, for instance, Alexandria (http://alexandria.rubyforge.net)

If all else fails, this will be a great incentive to learn Python or
Ruby, I suppose...
