I tried a QNAP 890 Pro and returned it. Even with Qnap's excellent tech support (11PM on a Friday night remoting into my server) they couldn't get the device to work properly. Problem was with trying to create the volumes. The init procedure would get to 95% and then fail. Even using the 2 Gb NICs teamed for speed, copying to and from the device was very slow. I gave up after a week and sent the unit back. Wound up building me a Windows Storage Server 2008 box now that WSS08 is on MSDN.
